Create your own botanical hana-fukin—an embroidered cloth rooted in the Japanese sashiko tradition—in this beginner-friendly, 3-session workshop. You’ll go from sketching your design to stitching your final piece, learning key techniques for borders, outlines, and even stitches along the way.
What you’ll learn:
- The history and artistry of hana-fukin, with inspiration from botanical examples
- How to sketch and plan your embroidery design using live plants as reference
- Preparing your cloth and sewing clean borders
- Even stitching on straight and curved lines
- Outlining and refining botanical motifs with sashiko techniques
By the end, you’ll have a finished hana-fukin featuring your own botanical design—perfect for display, gifting, or everyday use.
