Intro to Bojagi and Patchwork
Intro to Bojagi and Patchwork
Couldn't load pickup availability
Explore two traditions rooted in reuse: Korean bojagi and Appalachian patchwork.
Both practices are about making something beautiful out of what’s on hand. Whether it’s the delicate seams of jogakbo or the improvisational logic of Appalachian strip piecing, these methods invite us to slow down and see fabric differently. In this class, we’ll talk about the cultural lineages behind each, then start stitching—by hand, of course.
No experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and a love for textiles that hold stories.
Summer 2025 Offerings
Wed. Jul 23__10 AM to 12 PM (2-hour)
Fri. Aug 1__6 PM to 9 PM (3-hour)
The cost of this class includes all materials and reflects our commitment to paying our instructors a living wage. 2-hour classes are 136.00. 3-hour classes are 156.00.
2 vs. 3-Hour Offerings
Some classes are 2 hours long. These are about learning and improving your techniques, not about finishing a final project. Think of these as time to grow, practice, and explore the “how” and “why” behind a craft.
Other classes are 3 hours long. These focus on making something you can take home. You’ll still learn along the way, but the main goal is to create a finished (or mostly finished) item.
An example: Imagine a “Paint and Sip” class. You leave with a painting—a finished product. But the class doesn’t go deeply into the techniques or skills like how to choose paint types, brushes, or color combinations. The instructor guides you through copying their techniques, but their real skills come from years of study and practice.
We offer both kinds of classes—because both have value.
