Hand Stitching for Emerging Creatives (Ages 10–13)____11.16.25 (Sun) 10 AM to 12 PM

Imagine fixing your favorite shirt, sewing on a cool patch, or decorating your backpack so it’s one-of-a-kind. In this class, you’ll learn how to do all that—and more—using just a needle, thread, and your own creativity.

This is a hands-on class made for tweens. With help from a friendly, experienced teacher, you’ll learn easy and fun ways to sew, fix, and decorate fabric. You’ll also build focus, patience, and confidence—skills you can use long after class is over.

Each time we meet, you’ll work on a small, colorful project—something you can touch, show off, and take home. We’ll give you everything you need, and you’ll have lots of chances to play with color, texture, and your own ideas.

This isn’t a “kids’ craft” class—it’s a place to learn real sewing skills in a way that’s fun and just right for your age. If you love making things with your hands, this is a class you’ll remember.

This course will be taught by Ali Dworsack, whose artistry includes extensive work with younger learners in textiles. Ali currently works in the Fashion Design Program at Drexel, is the brilliant mind behind Camilla Mustard, and is Approved Textiles’ first Artist in Residence.

The cost of this class includes all materials and reflects our commitment to paying our instructors a living wage. 2-hour classes are 68.00.

A note about age: If you’re not between the ages of 10 and 13 but really want to take this class, this could be a great opportunity to talk with an important adult in your life to see if you both agree it’s a good fit for you.
