Come stitch with us.

In this relaxed one-night class, we’ll gather around the table to start a hana-fukin—gridded sashiko cloths traditionally used in Japanese kitchens. These cloths are humble, useful, and deeply beautiful: a place where rhythm, geometry, and handwork come together.

You’ll learn how to read a pre-printed grid, follow a pattern, and build up lines of sashiko stitches with simple tools. It’s an easy entry point if you’ve been curious about visible mending or handwork in general—and a satisfying evening project if you just want to make something with your hands.

You’ll leave with a piece that's only just begun and everything you need to keep stitching at home. No experience necessary.

Get ready for a meditative experience. Be prepared to leave with a lifelong appreciation for the art of the running stitch.

Class Exchange Policy

We’re happy to move your booking to a different date for the same class, as long as we hear from you more than 48 hours before class begins. Just email us at inquiry@approved-textiles.com, and we’ll take care of it.

If your request comes in less than 48 hours before class starts, we won’t be able to reschedule you—but we can offer you 50% off your next booking for the same class.

We know life happens. This policy helps us keep our small class sizes sustainable for our shop, our teachers, and our community. Thanks for understanding.
