Mending transfers are incredibly helpful—they come with a design on a fabric stabilizer, making the process feel like a breeze.

But what happens when we take away the safety net of the design? When we remove the training wheels of the stabilizer? That’s where your creativity takes the proverbial handlebars, steering your project in directions only you can imagine.

With a chalk pencil, a sturdy ruler, and stencils, this class will help you conceptualize, plan, design--and if time allows--begin to execute your own design from start to finish.

_______

"Intermediate" and "Advanced" visual menders are more about your frame of mind than the hours you've spent stitching or the number of pieces you've mended. For some, picking up a needle and thread can feel intimidating, but imagining a design is exciting and enjoyable. For others, it’s the exact opposite. These types of makers thrive in our Intro classes.

That said, "Intermediate" and "Advanced" menders—through no fault of their own—often find themselves bored in our Intro classes. They’re ready to create their own designs and dive into hand stitching without hesitation.
