Learn the handwork basics that last a lifetime — in just one focused hour.

This new series is designed for anyone ready to get started with visible mending, sashiko, or darning. Each 60-minute session is a practical, hands-on introduction to the techniques behind these global traditions of textile repair. We’ll walk you through the fundamentals, share tips for setup and tools, and help you build the confidence to keep stitching long after class ends.

Choose your focus:

– Intro to Sashiko: you'll focus on how to draw and execute a geometric design with grids for repairs on woven fabrics.

– Visible Mending 101: with the design work is already taken care of with our pre-printed designs, you'll focus on the mechanics of repair for woven fabrics.

– Darning by Hand: mending our knit garments

Each session includes a thoughtful materials kit with:
✔️ A selection of needles + thread
✔️ Fabric scraps (or a wooden darning egg for darning)
✔️ A beginner-friendly starter pack specific to the technique you’re learning

This is a time = value offering. No busywork. Just enough guidance to loosen the lid on the jar — so you can keep opening it again and again.

We will not offer RUSH tickets for 60-minute stitching classes.

Class Exchange Policy

We’re happy to move your booking to a different date for the same class, as long as we hear from you more than 48 hours before class begins. Just email us at inquiry@approved-textiles.com, and we’ll take care of it.

If your request comes in less than 48 hours before class starts, we won’t be able to reschedule you—but we can offer you 50% off your next booking for the same class.

We know life happens. This policy helps us keep our small class sizes sustainable for our shop, our teachers, and our community. Thanks for understanding.
